The first resort complex on the bank of the Finnish Gulf was constructed. It consists of several clinics, a pine-tree park, an expensive restaurant, and a big concert hall. It' was said that flirting was the major occupation on the resort, and not medical treatment. Among the famous people who visited the resort were Leonid Andreev, Maxim Gorky, Leonid Sobinov, Alexander Block, famous singer Shalyapin, as well as several others.
Today there are many resorts and health centers in Sestroretsk.

Sestroretsk workers took an active part in the revolutionary movement by hiding Lenin and providing him with food and shelter. It was in one of these hiding places where Lenin wrote his famous work "State and Revolution" |
